Directionless

It is seldom my dogs do what I ask of them.  They know a few tricks and commands, but only follow them at random.  Madison knows regular commands like "sit", "down" and "army crawl".  Montel knows "sit" but only if you do the hand signal.  He knows "down" only if you hold a treat over his head until he gets bored.  

Vicki?  Vicki thinks she is a cat.  When you give her a command she looks at you so you know that if she could, she would be lifting her paw's middle toe at you.

The only time Vicki sits is at supper time.  She sits and waits patiently for all the food to be put out and the go ahead to be given.  I couldn't figure out what the difference.  Today I realized, she only sits when you say "sit, please".   

Yeah, that's right.  She thinks she is so important she will only follow directions when asked politely.
