Caretaker

I have been worried about things a lot lately. However, I thought I was doing a good job of hiding my fears from The Guy. I've told him I'm being a little more careful financially than I've been in the past, but didn't think he knew how worried I've been about it.

A week or so ago, I realized I am desperate for a hair cut. A hair cut I did not budget into my new frugal lifestyle. I mentioned I needed a hair cut a couple of times to The Guy (mostly when it got in the way of me doing something I wanted to) but never thought much of it. I am known for saying I need to do something at least a billion times before I actually do it.

Tonight, The Guy came over for supper. To help my budget and my waistline, I have been trying to cook us supper once a week or so. Quality time + cheap setting = good idea! He arrived early (as usual) and said he had something for me.

A voucher for 4 haircut and spa-type services at a nice salon.

It's one of the most thoughtful things he could have done. I didn't know what to say or how to thank him. He saw what I needed and did something about it. Without me asking or expecting, he gave me a way to both relieve my stress and get something I needed.

Who can ask for more?

  3. B., you're going to have to start counting more than pennies. Count some blessings and put him in there twice.

  4. I know, I'm a lucky girl. Don't think I ever forget it. Although, 5 years down the road when he does something stupid, I may have to be reminded.
