December 7 Community. Where have you discovered community, online or otherwise, in 2010? What community would you like to join, create or more deeply connect with in 2011? (prompt by @caligater)
When it comes to community, I'm pretty secluded. My community tends to revolve around my sisters, my dog, my husband, my work, my blog.
Since I got married, we've been trying to create more of community for ourselves. We had a New Years party last year, a house warming party, and a couple of get-togethers with like minded friends. However, we're still working on creating a community.
What I really want is a good group of couple friends. We have one or two "couples" that we spend time with, but none that are the perfect couple to match The Guy and I. We have couple friends were I am friends with the couple and The Guy takes some time getting used to them, or he's friends with the couple and I like them, but don't always have a lot in common with them.
If only my brother and his wife lived closer (stupid Red Deer) or my dumb sisters would move closer and get married. In the next year, that is my goal.
But, I might just watch HGTV with The Guy instead.
I read that end bit as "In the next year, that is my goat". And...that made sense to me.
