After the unfortunate incident of me running The Guy's Blackberry through the laundry, we decided to go to our local cell phone shop and look at combining our accounts. He's been a Roger's guy for the last little while and I am -- out of loyalty and laziness -- a Sasktel girl. We figured it would be cheaper to run our cells out of the same company and, Boy Howdy, we were right. We can make back the difference of buying The Guy out of his old program in 5 months.
While The Guy was looking at new Blackberry's, I lamented to the clerk that I just got a new phone in December and really hated it. But, I thought I had to keep with it until the 2 year waiting period was up and I could upgrade my phone. She informed me I didn't have to wait! I could move to a Blackberry now and sell my old-new cell. Woot! So, I pushed The Guy out of the way and picked a phone. I wanted the purple one, but they were out, so I got the black one and put it in a purple case.
We met friends for drinks shortly after our acquisition and The Guy spent the whole time with his head stuck in his phone playing with all the gadgets. I couldn't figure out what he was doing. It was only a phone! I mean, it was cool (but his wasn't purple, so whatever) but it was only a phone.
Then I got home and started to look at the features.
I haven't spoken to anyone since. I can see The Guy and Monty out of the corner of my eye, but that's easily ignored.
I have email and text message and Blackberry message. I have wireless connections (I don't pay for data if I'm on a wireless connection. SCORE!) and I have music and pictures and... the list goes on my friend. Lately, I find myself getting out of bed early to play on my Blackberry. I surf the net while in the tub. I answer emails on the toilet.* I check Facebook at our local pub.
It's as if all the dreams I ever had but didn't know I had came true in ONE PRETTY PURPLE PHONE!
If you thought it was bad when I learned how to text, you do not want to see me now!
*I don't, I just put this here to freak out my sisters.
