Yes, today is my wedding day. It will be solemn and beautiful and a public testimony of The Guy's and my love for each other. But the confession is true.
The Guy and I got married a couple of months ago. In July. Alone.
DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO KEEP THAT SECRET FROM YOU????
Seriously. We told some of our friends and family, but I had to keep it off the Internet. We didn't want people to feel like there was no purpose in coming to a wedding when the nuptials had already happened. So, we eloped -- planning to keep it a mostly secret.
Uh huh. If you think I can't keep a secret, you should try getting married in a back room where 350 of your family and friends are unknowingly eating lunch. The secret lasted... oh, 30 seconds. WILDFIRE. I am surprised it was not immediately posted on every news source in the world.
So, now the secret is out. Officially.
Ha! That's awesome! Well, many congratulations. :)
ReplyDeleteWhy the separate weddings?
ReplyDeleteI realize it's none of my business and that you're probably on a honeymoon by now and won't even notice my question, but still...
Her Dad wasn't able to get out to Canada until September, and so they still planned on having the whole formal ceremony and all that now. But, she didn't have anywhere to live as of July, and didn't want to live with the Guy without being married, and her grandma said "Why don't you guys just get married and get over with it?"
ReplyDelete(I apparently already knew this story.)
So I just got home from your wedding and saw this on Facebook and was like, WTF? but now it all makes sense because I knew you didn't want to live together without being married! And I'm still glad you had a wedding because I would have never come here otherwise. Or had that awesome cake.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was beautiful. And you looked beautiful. So it was all worth it.
And now I don't feel as bad for stealing Hershey Kisses off the table.
That is awesome. You guys are cool.
ReplyDeleteAwwww. I am full of so many warm fuzzies right now.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations my dear !!
Elopement = awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's what all the cool kids are doing.
That is exactly what I want to do.
ReplyDeleteElope and have a most excellent party - with great music to boot. We have a winner! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI was completely duped!
ReplyDeleteMy #1 guess was not wanting to live in sin. Do I win a prize (even though when I came to comment I could actually read the answer)?
I thought something was off. Someone said they thought you were living with the Guy already, and I said that couldn't be, because you would want to be married first. NOW it all makes sense. A belated congrats to both of you!
