When we were kids, there was a sign that sat on a lawn all year round. We drove by this sign on the lawn at least once a week. The sign simply said "YAS". At the time, we didn't know what it was for. It had no explanation, just the word and a phone number.
Being that we were children, we immediately tried to think of the most irrational thing the sign could stand for. And we came up with it. "YAS" = "You are stupid".
Every time we passed the sign, we would chant our made up phrase to each other. We would use the phrase as a torture device towards each other. We were children - we're built to annoy.
Tonight, I drove past a sign on the road we used to travel as kids. There it was. Not the same sign, but the same message. "YAS"!! it proclaimed. And 25 years later, all I could do was chuckle to myself and think "YAS! You are stupid!!!"
What does it stand for?
