I'm official.

Finally, after 7 years at my agency, I am officially permanent staff. I have been working a full time position for numerous years, but it has been temporary. Which means, I had to reapply for the position every time it came due. Not a big deal really, but more of an irritation. Now, I own the position. It's mine. No one can take it from me and I am full time until forever.

I guess I should be more excited, but I feel like nothing has really changed. I guess it hasn't, but I feel like I should feel different. Or something. I have no idea.

Of course, now I am "one of them". The permanent full time staff. Not one of the casuals or the newbies or anything like that.

Weird.

And I'm so glad Dress a Day is back on your sidebar. I missed it.

  2. Congratulations! Does anything change with the fact that you're now permanent staff? A raise? Coffee privileges? Bragging rights? Just the right to not have to re-apply for your job?

  3. Thanks! Nope, nothing changes except that I don't have to re-apply and I can now take leaves if I want to. Like education or maternity - not that I would, but I can!!

(Yeah, I had forgotten to put it back on there when I changed the site around. I couldn't remember what all was there.)

  4. I was full time temp. for years, too. The one big change for me was that was a non-permanent (no matter how many years you did the job) you couldn't contribute to a pension fund.
