Bird bodies

(I was going to write "For the Birds", but that was a bit too obvious even for me. I mean, I'm a fan of cheese, but that's a bit much. Still I had to share.)

A while ago, while perusing Binsk's site, I came upon this post about dead birds and how she doesn't see them around despite how many there are likely to be out there. Since that time, I have seen nothing BUT dead birds. The dogs started trying to carry dead baby birds (the ones that had fallen from the nest) home to my house. I realized this because Vicki was chewing on something and I pulled it out of her mouth to discover it was a dead baby bird. Then Monty did the same a few days later but it was just the baby birds head. (I may never recover from that one.) And the dogs keep pointing out all the other dead birds on the road. Actually, they roll in them, but the information is the same. And now, there is a dead grown up bird on my front lawn. ON MY FRONT LAWN. I don't know what to do with it. I'm not touching it, that's for sure. I'm hoping that when my lawn boys come over today they will be brave and remove it. Cuz if they don't? I'm letting it rot where it is.

I'm not sure why I needed to share that. I guess now all of you can be on the lookout for dead birds too. It's not fair that I should suffer alone.

  1. well if we're into not suffering alone, who's going to grab the cornstarch and an old lady and share my grief!?!?!

  2. Seriously Kristin, Chris shares your grief, just from me telling him the story. Every time he looks at a box of cornstarch, he hears an old lady voice saying "Lady? Lady?" and he gets all freaked out.

My husband has too vivid of an imagination.
