Roman Holiday

I know, these last few posts have all been about holidays of one sort or another. Tonight, I watched Roman Holiday. Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. All I can say is: Why did I wait 30 years to see the best movie ever made?? It had the best romance, the best love, the best ending.

Oh, the ending. Ripped my heart out and stomped on it. And if it had ended any other way, I would have been utterly disappointed.

I love Gregory Peck. I think he is the best-looking, most incredibly sexy, best deep voice, most amazing... sigh. He's freaking fantastic.

There are no men like Gregory Peck any more. I grieve this knowledge with a sorrow no one can comprehend. It's like tasting the world's best chocolate and knowing they don't make it anymore. And all you can do is reminisce in how great it tasted once.

I'm being a little melodramatic, but he is that good.

  1. You waited this long because Ky and I drove you crazy the first time we watched it. We yelled for like five minutes, at the end, "Nooooooooooooooo!" and then you stormed out of your room and threatened to shave our eyebrows or something.

Funny thing is that Roman Holiday makes my dad really upset. He's an old softy and is a sucker for a happy ending. Ask Dad about Roman Holiday. He'll get going about how the movie ended when it wasn't over yet and he'll get all upset.

Seriously though, isn't Gregory Peck just beautiful?

  2. Actually, you should tell my Dad about how much you love the ending. He'll respond all "Noooooo!"

  3. I agree with you on Gregory Peck. My favorite movie is To Kill A Mockingbird. Wasn't he the BEST in that?

  4. Yes...he was a classic...don't make em like that anymore....mind you I really like Johnny Depp...I think he is an amazing character actor....I don't think I have seen him in a film I didn't like...he is so versatile.

anyhow, love the layout of your blog...clean clear concise...ooh alliteration....btw...skittles sent me and I am glad she did...

  5. Gregory Peck is awesome! I'll have to see this movie, I've never seen it.

    BTW, Skittles sent me here...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pictures of the (your?) doggies at the top of your blog! I love your blog altogether! Great!

  6. Apparently I owe Skittles referal fees! Thanks.

Qwop: I am so talking to your Dad about this. And I will tell him my theory about what actually happened afterwards.

Skittles: I haven't seen TKaMB. But now I will have to watch it. I will watch everything he ever did.

Smalltown: my aunt is crazy about Johnny Depp. We make sure every gift we give her has a little bit of Johnny in it!

Mikala: Thanks! Glad to have you here.
